As part of the Heritage Open days in September, many heritage buildings were open throughout the UK for just one weekend.
The Clock Tower thought they’d open their door to the public, which they’ve never done before.
As well as opening the bottom door to have a rare peek up to the higher levels, there was also an interesting exhibition in the Clock Tower information centre (81 Central Parade, next to Saxon Shore Wetherspoon pub), telling you all about the history of the Clock Tower and its restorations. There was also a special exhibition by HBHRS about ‘Shops and Shopping in Herne Bay’.
